Founder & Editor — Datalevo

I run Datalevo, where I investigate whether AI tools are actually legitimate, safe, and worth paying for — so readers can decide before handing over their card details.

About the Author

Why I Started Datalevo

Datalevo started with a frustration. Every week a new AI tool appears promising to write your emails, find you a job, or make you money — and every week people search “is it a scam?” and find either breathless affiliate hype or a forum thread with three contradictory answers. There was no calm, evidence-based place to check.

So that became the job. I look at the things that actually decide whether a tool is worth your money: who runs the company, what the billing terms really say, how easy it is to cancel, what independent security checkers report, and what patterns show up across hundreds of user complaints. Then I say plainly what I found — including when the answer is “we don’t know yet.”

Most of what I publish concludes something more nuanced than “scam” or “legit.” Plenty of AI tools are perfectly real and still worth avoiding because their trial quietly converts into an expensive subscription. That distinction matters to readers, so it’s the one I focus on.

My background is in blogging and SEO, and I’ve completed formal training in generative AI (certificate below). I’m not a security researcher, and I don’t pretend to be. Where a claim is beyond what I can verify, I attribute it to its source rather than presenting it as my own finding.

How I Work

A full breakdown lives on the How We Review AI Tools page, but the short version is this:

1

Evidence before opinion

Every verdict is built from company records, published billing and privacy terms, independent trust checkers, and patterns across real user reports.

2

Claims are attributed

If I haven’t verified something myself, I say where it came from. “Users report” and “according to ScamAdviser” mean exactly that — second-hand evidence, clearly labelled.

3

Uncertainty gets stated

When the evidence conflicts or a tool is too new to judge, the article says so instead of manufacturing a confident answer.

4

No verdict is for sale

Sponsorships and affiliate partnerships never influence a rating. Paid placements are labelled, and a commission has never turned a warning into a recommendation.

5

Corrections are welcome

Ratings reflect a moment in time. If a review is out of date or wrong — reader or reviewed company — tell me and I’ll look again.
