Undetectable AI’s free trial gives you 250 words. Miss the three-day deadline and the next charge covers a whole year: between $60 and $255 depending on the plan you picked. That’s how the pricing page read on 12 October 2026, where the trial sits on yearly plans only.
Add a cancellation rule that most users never see (outside California and New York, you can only cancel by email) and you have the reason the complaints look the way they do. Of the 20 newest one and two-star reviews on Trustpilot, 16 are about money, not about the humanizer.
Our verdict is Caution. Undetectable AI is a real, working product, not a scam. The risk is in the billing, and you can avoid most of it if you know the rules before you start the trial.
What is Undetectable AI?
Undetectable AI is a web tool best known for two things: an AI detector that scores text as human or machine-written, and a “humanizer” that rewrites AI text so detectors score it as human. The menu has grown well past that, with an essay writer, a “watermark remover,” an auto-typer, a job applier and detectors for fake receipts, IDs and deepfakes. The pricing page claims 24,440,377 users.
The company behind it calls itself Undetectable Inc., with an address on Coffeen Avenue in Sheridan, Wyoming. Its terms choose Idaho law and send disputes to binding arbitration. Its privacy notice names a different entity, Undetectable LLC. That’s untidy rather than sinister, but it tells you how much care went into the paperwork.

Undetectable AI pricing: what the trial actually turns into
Every plan is sold by words per month, and the yearly plans are half the monthly price. The catch is that only yearly plans come with the free trial, and the page says “No charge today. Cancel anytime before the trial ends.”
| Words a month | Monthly plan | Yearly plan, per month | Charged when the trial ends |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10,000 | Not offered monthly | $5.00 | $60.00 |
| 20,000 | $19.00 | $9.50 | $114.00 |
| 35,000 | $31.00 | $15.75 | $189.00 |
| 50,000 | $42.00 | $21.25 | $255.00 (12 x $21.25) |
Two sums matter. First, the smallest plan you can trial costs $60 up front on day four, for a tool you’ve tested on 250 words. Second, the yearly discount is real: 20,000 words a month costs $228 over twelve monthly payments against $114 on the yearly plan. So the yearly plan is the better deal if you’re sure you’ll use it, and an expensive mistake if you only wanted to try it.
Several reviewers say they were charged before the three days were up. We couldn’t verify that timing ourselves, since we didn’t start a trial. If you do, cancel on day one or two and keep the email.
Undetectable AI reviews: where the complaints cluster
On Trustpilot Undetectable AI holds 3.5 stars from 995 reviews, and the ratings split almost in two: 501 five-star and 404 one-star. Trustpilot’s reply figures show answers to 24 of 129 negative reviews, and its last reply to one was on 7 July 2026.
We read the 20 newest one and two-star reviews (14 June to 9 October 2026) and sorted them:
- 7 said a “free trial” turned into a charge they didn’t expect, often the $60 yearly fee.
- 6 said they cancelled by email and were still charged, or never got a reply to the cancellation email.
- 2 were other billing problems, including one double charge of $135.
- 4 said the humanizer didn’t work well enough to be worth paying for.
- 1 said the money-back guarantee was refused although a detector still flagged the text.
That’s 16 of 20 about billing. The pattern matches what we found in the terms, which is why we’d call this a cancellation problem rather than fraud.
Is Undetectable AI a scam or legit?
Legit. It’s an established site that delivers the product it sells, and it has run long enough for ScamAdviser to describe it as “very likely not a scam but legit and reliable.” The same page flags that the owner hides behind a WHOIS privacy service and that the reviews are polarised.

What a scam check can’t show is how a subscription behaves. Here the problems are written into the terms rather than hidden from them, which makes them legal, but not reader-friendly. A tool that sells a three-day trial on an annual plan and then only accepts cancellations by email is built for people who forget.
The money-back guarantee, read closely
The pricing page promises a “Money-back guarantee if output flagged is not human.” The terms put conditions on it that the page doesn’t mention:
- A refund is only available if a submission “provably flags as less than 75% human on a reputable AI detector,” and the terms don’t say which detectors count.
- You must ask within 30 days of the incident.
- The refund clauses talk mainly about refunding credits, and the general refund section opens with “Refunds will not be provided unless required by law.”
- If you cancel, you “immediately lose your remaining words,” even on a yearly plan.
- If the company stops operating, a yearly subscription ends “without any refund or compensation.”
So keep screenshots of any detector result that flags your output, with the date, before you ask. The one reviewer who relied on ZeroGPT was turned down.
Is Undetectable AI safe to use?
Safe from malware, as far as we can tell: it runs in the browser, with an optional Chrome extension. Your text is the open question. The privacy notice is dated 18 March 2023 and reads like an unfilled template; one sentence says “Our servers are located in.” and then stops. It doesn’t say what happens to the text you paste in, how long it’s kept or whether it’s used to improve the tools.
So paste nothing you’d mind a stranger reading: no client documents, nothing with names or account numbers. And if you’re a student, the bigger risk isn’t the website. Detectors disagree with each other, and a rewrite that passes one may fail your school’s. Our JustDone AI review covers why selling both a detector and a humanizer is a conflict worth thinking about.
How to cancel Undetectable AI
These steps come from the terms as published on 12 October 2026. We didn’t hold an account, so we couldn’t test the dashboard, and policies change.
- California or New York resident: cancel in your account dashboard under the subscription settings. The terms say it’s meant to be as easy as signing up.
- Everyone else: email [email protected] from the email address on your account, with your full name and plan. Section 6 of the same terms gives [email protected] instead, so copy both addresses.
- Ask for a written confirmation and keep it. The terms say cancellation counts from the date it’s “received and confirmed,” and that a request after the renewal date is too late.
- Don’t use a chargeback as your cancellation. The terms say a dispute doesn’t cancel the subscription and that the company will send your account logs to the card network.
- If you’re charged after a confirmed cancellation, reply to that confirmation email first, then dispute the charge with your card issuer and attach it.
Trial traps turn up in other tools we’ve reviewed, from Use.AI, where a $1 trial becomes $29.99, to the Brain AI app and its $0.99 IQ test. With Undetectable AI the fix is simple: decide before day three, and get the confirmation in writing.
FAQs
Is Undetectable AI legit or a scam?
It’s legit: a working detector and humanizer from Undetectable Inc. Most complaints are about billing, mainly a three-day trial that converts to a yearly charge and email-only cancellation outside California and New York.
Is Undetectable AI free?
Only for 250 words. The free trial runs for three days on yearly plans, and if you don’t cancel in time you’re charged for the full year, from $60 for 10,000 words a month.
How do I cancel Undetectable AI?
Outside California and New York, email [email protected] from your account address and ask for written confirmation. California and New York residents can cancel in the account dashboard.
Does Undetectable AI give refunds?
Rarely. Its terms only allow a refund if your output provably scores below 75% human on a reputable detector, requested within 30 days, and cancelling ends your remaining words immediately.
Is Undetectable AI safe to use?
It’s a browser tool with no known malware issues, but its privacy notice dates from 2023 and doesn’t say what happens to the text you paste. Keep confidential or personal material out of it.
Can Turnitin detect Undetectable AI?
Sometimes. Detectors disagree with each other, and Undetectable AI’s own refund rule admits outputs can still be flagged, so a passing score on one checker is no guarantee with another.
