Is Beacons AI Safe? The $10 Plan Still Takes 9% of Sales

Beacons’ free plan costs nothing a month and 9% of every sale. Upgrade to the $10 Creator plan and it still takes 9%. Only Creator Plus, at $30 a month, drops the seller fee to zero, so it starts paying for itself once you sell about $333 a month. That’s the number most “is Beacons AI safe” answers skip, and it matters more to most creators than any security badge.

Our verdict is Caution. Beacons is a real company with a working product, and nothing we found suggests it steals data or money. But its terms hand it a broad licence to your content, including for AI training and marketing, paid features end the moment you cancel with no prorated refund, and its few public reviews are mostly about support that doesn’t answer. We read its pricing page, its legal page and its Trustpilot profile on 13 October 2026.

What Beacons AI is

Beacons is a link-in-bio builder for creators: one page that holds your links, a store for digital products, a media kit for brand deals, email sends, affiliate links and an AI assistant called Beam. It’s run by Beacons AI Inc. from a San Francisco mailing address, and its creator terms and privacy policy both carry the date 19 August 2024.

What Beacons costs once you start selling

The plans on the pricing page, as listed on 13 October 2026:

One oddity: $83.3 a month for twelve months is about $1,000, not the $900 printed beside it. We didn’t start a checkout, so we can’t tell which figure Beacons actually charges. Check the total on the payment screen before you confirm.

Here’s what each of the three cheaper plans costs you in a month, fee included, at different sales levels (monthly billing):

The Creator plan never comes out cheapest once you’re selling, because it keeps the full 9%. What it buys is features: a custom domain, more AI credits, more email sends. The cut stays the same. And on every plan, the terms say payouts arrive less card processing fees as well as Beacons’ commission. If you sell under about $330 a month, stay on Free; above it, Creator Plus is the cheaper option.

Is Beacons AI legit or a scam?

Legit. It’s a registered company with public plans, a long set of legal documents and a working product. What it doesn’t have is a good reputation with the people who complain. On Trustpilot it scores 2.0 from 42 reviews, 32 of them one star, on a profile Beacons hasn’t claimed and where it doesn’t reply. In January 2026 it was 1.9 from 38.

We read the ten newest one-star reviews, which run from December 2025 to August 2026. Three are mainly about support that never reaches a person. Three are about money: the $30 plan needed to remove Beacons branding, or fees on sales. Two describe losing a web address or domain after downgrading or cancelling. One says about $728 in affiliate payouts has sat as pending for more than a year. One is a general rant. That’s a small sample, so read it as a list of what can go wrong, not a measure of how often.

Is Beacons AI safe with your content and data?

This is the section of the Terms of Use for Creators that deserves a slow read. When you post content, you give Beacons a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide licence to use it to run the service. The same paragraph then says your content may be used by Beacons or by third-party AI providers to train and improve AI models, and also for marketing and promotional purposes.

The privacy policy names OpenAI and Google as AI services it uses to generate content, and lists Stripe, PayPal, Plaid, Shopify and Segment among the other services data passes through. It says that if it learns it has collected data from a child under 16 without a parent’s consent, it deletes it.

None of that is unusual for a creator platform, and it isn’t a security flaw. But “safe” includes knowing what you’ve agreed to. Don’t upload unreleased work, client files or anything you’d mind turning up in a training set or a Beacons promo. If you use the Google or YouTube connections, you can remove that access from your Google account’s third-party connections page at any time.

Is a Beacons page safe for your visitors?

For the people clicking your link, a Beacons page is an ordinary web page. Its community standards require creators who link to adult material to switch on a sensitive content notice, ban illegal goods and services, and offer a report form for pages that break the rules. Links to products and checkouts go through Beacons’ own store pages and payment processors rather than through anything a visitor installs.

Cancel at the end of the month, not the start

The detail that costs people money is buried in the renewal clause. If you cancel, you lose the paid features immediately, and you aren’t eligible for a prorated refund of the period you’ve already paid for. So cancelling the day after a renewal throws away a whole month.

1. Note your renewal date first, then cancel a day or two before it.
2. Log in, open Account Settings at the bottom of the left-hand menu, and find the Subscription section. The terms call the button Downgrade in one sentence and Manage Subscription in the next; one reviewer said the flow asks you to fill in several surveys before it finishes.
3. If you bought the plan inside the iPhone app, cancel it in your Apple subscriptions instead.
4. Using a custom domain or a paid web address? Check who controls it before you downgrade. Two recent reviewers say they lost theirs.
5. Want to keep the right to sue? You have 30 days after first agreeing to the terms to opt out of arbitration, by letter to Beacons AI Inc., 2261 Market St. #4319, San Francisco, CA 94114, with your name, address, account email and a clear statement that you’re opting out.

These steps come from the terms and reviews we read on 13 October 2026, not from cancelling a paid plan ourselves. Menus change, so look for the same words if yours look different.
